‘I’ve a restraining order against me, am homeless, living in shelters…’

York, PA–A letter from a reader:

Hello, my name is John and I have had a restraining order against me since January 7th. I’ve been homeless, living in shelters, bouncing from one friend’s house to another. I have two small children who I adore and miss terribly. Their mother (who has cheated many times and was pregnant at the time with another man’s baby and told him she miscarried) had come to me after staying out until 4am on January 5th after work with no heads up or anything to tell me to sign a notarized paper saying I will see my kids IF I move out. So of course I say no. My children are my best friends. So the very next night she does it again after work, so now I know another man is in the picture.
By the 7th she said on her way out the door that she was going to work at a different franchise for the day to pick up extra shifts but instead she went to the courthouse in our town and I was served with a domestic restraining order. I was so caught off-guard that I had to scramble to find a place to live. I ended up in York, Pennsylvania, which in turn made me late for court in Baltimore to speak on my behalf. I cannot even join the army as a paralegal now because it makes my morals in question until it’s removed. Above all, I need to put my fragmented family back together but I don’t know how. Please Help!! Thank you.
