Everyone at National Parents Organization, hopes you have the happiest of Thanksgivings. Thanksgiving is one of the holidays on which families traditionally gather and enjoy each other and the simple existence of their loved ones. It’s a time to spend with the people we’ve grown up with and who’ve nurtured and protected us, guided us, mentored us and loved us all our lives. It’s the time we remember to appreciate spouses, stepchildren and others we’ve taken into our lives. Most of all, it’s the time we take to remember all the things for which we can be thankful.
And for those who’ve been separated from their families by any of the many ways that can happen, know that the time is coming when laws and courts will acknowledge the deep and great value of keeping children in the lives of parents and parents in the lives of children. Truly, there is no adequate substitute for what parents give to children. That message is well known to most people. Slowly, laws and courts are coming to know it too.
And for that, we can all be thankful.
