CA Congressional Candidate Tells F & F ‘Fathers Should Be Treated Equally in All Areas of Family Law’

Redondo Beach Mayor Mike Gin, a candidate for the 36th Congressional District of California.
Redondo Beach Mayor Mike Gin, a candidate for the 36th Congressional District of California, recently expressed support for family court reform, telling Fathers and Families:

This is an issue of equality.  I believe that fathers should be treated equally with mothers in all areas of
family law including child custody, child support, etc. I do have some male friends who have, unfortunately, been in the family law courts and have heard first-hand experiences from them.  While the role of mothers is important, fathers should be given equal consideration in decisions that are handed down by these courts.

Gin is a candidate in the May 17 special election to fill the seat in California’s 36th congressional district left vacant by the resignation of Jane Harman. If Gin wins, he’d be the first gay married man in Congress. His website is www.mikegin.com. Thanks to Fathers and Families supporter Mike Sukey for his citizen lobbying efforts in connecting us to Gin.
